Copywriting for small business is like cake on your birthday. Essential. But if you’ve never worked with a copywriter before – or you’ve never worked with me – you might be wondering how it all works. Fear not. It’s going to be fabulous.
Whatever the scope of your project, I have established systems to make sure your copywriting experience is smooth, enjoyable and easy. Here’s what to expect, from the moment you get in touch until the time I deliver your final copy.
Get in touch via email to send me details of your project. Once I know what you need and when you need it by, I’ll come back with a few questions that will help me give you an accurate quote.
I’ll present you with an obligation free quote explaining exactly what you’ll get and how much it will cost. I’ll also send you my standard terms & conditions, so you know what to expect with things like payment, drafts and sign-offs.
If you’re happy with the quote, I require a 50% deposit before I start researching and writing (or payment in full for jobs under $500). Deposits can be paid easily via EFT or Paypal.
Copywriting is a collaborative process. The more you can tell me about your business and your goals, the better. I’ll send you a briefing questionnaire, where you’ll tell me everything I need to create amazing copy. Depending on what you come back with, a phone chat might be needed. I’ll work with you to make the process as quick and simple as possible.
It’s my time to shine – and your time to relax. I’ll get started with any research, like industry or competitor research, before locking in to write your first draft.
Over to you. I’ll send you my first draft for review and you’ll have 7-14 days to provide feedback, depending on the size of your project.
I’ll complete any revisions and have your copy proof read by a professional third party. Once you’ve approved the final draft and paid your final invoice, you’re free to share your copy with the world. Woo!
Project sign off
You’ve received your copy and settled the final invoice. Everyone’s a winner! I’ll send you a sign off form to confirm the project is finalised.
